First World Problems

Verse
Babies in Botswana ain't got nothing to eat
Mamma's in Mumbai ain't got shoes on their feet
soldiers in Somalia are fighting in the streets
it's not as if I'm not aware

gunners in Guiana are gunning people down
lovers in the Congo are spreading death around
turning on the news is enough to make you frown
it's not as if I just don't care

Chorus
But I've got first world problems (yes I do)
man you know my lite is tough
my boss he doesn't get me
my friends they just upset me
my lover doesn't love me quite enough

I v'e got first world problems
its hard to get my body out of bed
my face is growing old
and my latte's way to cold
I think I need some cheering up my friends

Verse
Science and humanity just seem to be passé
Money and religion seems to rule the world today
I see it on on my screens from 5000 miles away
it kinda makes me sad sometimes

And I know that somewhere someone
is suffering tonight
but know that simply knowings
not enough to enough to make things right
and I am way to busy
to get caught up in that fight
So many troubles on my mind

Chorus
Cause I got first world problems
I got another scratch on my new car
and no one understand
just how freakin stressed I am
My cell phone only has a couple bars

Yeah, I've got first world problems
and lately I’m not feeling all that well
I think I ate too much
This afternoon at lunch
how did my life become this living hell?

Verse
But... I need just a moment
to reflect on where I’ve been
to seek out some new wisdom
to make it all make sense
some peace and inspiration
to make me whole again
to try to find the path that's true

But my yoga class got canceled
and my guru’s out of town
and all my self help books
don’t seem to help at all right now
and so I guess that I
will have to muddle though some how
you know, the way I always do.

Repeat first chorus.
