Where The Money Goes

I learned that he lived in a mansion by the sea
The painting it shows that he even looked like me
i was quire surprised by geaneology
I'm descended from a rich man.
He had many servants who catered to his whims
and men of wide renown who all deferred to him
I know you won’t believe me, so, I’ll tell you all again
I ‘m decesned from a rich man
In his parlor music played
a tune to suit a guilded age
but there's one thing I’d like to know
Where did all that money go?
I read he had a daughter and that he had two 2 boys
a counitng house in london where they where both employed
i took in all the details of the wealth that the enjoyed
I ‘m descended from a rich man
I’ll bet he never struggled or chose which bill to pay
just took it all for granted from birth to dying day
and the more I think about it, the more I am amazed
I’m descended from a rich man
and in his parlor music played
a tune to suit a gilded age
but there's one thing I’d like to know
where did all that money go?
But that is quite enough of that, I’m sure you would agree
I have a son and daughter who also look like me
and when I count the blessing of my life and family
I know I am a rich man
and in our kitchen music plays
a tune to suit a modern age
sung by those that I love so
a lesson I learned long ago
life is far to short, ya know
to worry where the money goes.
